Does my balance expire?

No. Trips never expire and there is no subscription, so a pack bought today is still usable next year.

Is my account suspended when the balance hits zero?

No. Only new forwards are refused. Logs, keys and settings stay intact, and service resumes on the next request after a top-up.

insufficient_trips: the balance is empty

insufficient_trips means the account balance is at zero, so the relay refuses to start a new forward. The request is not sent upstream, nothing is logged as a completed transfer, and your keys and settings are untouched.

Common causes

Every trip from the current balance has been spent.
A shared key is being used by more traffic than expected.
A retry loop is consuming balance faster than intended — check the activity log for repeated targets.

How to fix it

01Buy a one-time pack from the dashboard; trips land as soon as PayPal confirms.
02Review the activity log to find the traffic pattern that drained the balance.
03Mint separate keys per environment so one runaway script cannot starve production.
