Legal, rights and ownership

Last updated 2 November 2026

Backfire is created, owned and operated by Gurutva Murdia. This page states what is owned, what you may and may not do with it, and how those rights are enforced. It applies to the service, this website, the documentation and every asset published under the Backfire name.

Ownership

Backfire — the name, the wordmark and flame mark, the interface, the written documentation, the copy on this site, the data model and the underlying source code — is the original work of Gurutva Murdia and is protected by copyright and, where applicable, trademark and unfair-competition law.

No part of these rights is assigned, shared or licensed away by using the service. Paying for trips buys a metered right to send requests through the relay; it does not buy any interest in the product itself.

All rights reserved

All rights are reserved. Nothing on this site grants a licence by implication, estoppel or otherwise, except the narrow permissions stated in the next section.

Reproducing, distributing, publicly displaying, adapting, translating, sublicensing or selling any part of the product, its documentation or its branding without prior written permission is prohibited.

What you may do

Read the documentation and use the published code samples in your own applications.

Link to any public page and quote short excerpts with a clear attribution and a link back to the page quoted.

Call the API from your own applications with a key issued to you, within the limits of the terms of service.

What you may not do

Copy, mirror, scrape or republish substantial portions of this site or its documentation, including by automated means, or reuse the content to train, seed or evaluate a competing product.

Use the Backfire name, wordmark, flame mark or a confusingly similar variant in a product name, domain, repository, package, app listing or advertisement without written permission.

Remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or attribution notice, including the badge shown in the page footer.

Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source of the service’s backend, or probe it for weaknesses outside a responsible disclosure you have raised with the operator first.

Present Backfire as your own work, or imply endorsement, partnership or affiliation that does not exist.

Enforcement

These rights are enforced, not merely declared. On discovering a breach, Gurutva Murdia may, at their discretion and without prior notice: revoke API keys and suspend or terminate the offending account; demand immediate removal of the copied material; report the material to the host, registrar, app store or payment processor carrying it; and pursue any other remedy available at law, including damages and injunctive relief.

Where a breach is also a breach of the acceptable use policy or the terms of service, those remedies apply in addition. Trip balances on terminated accounts are not refundable where the termination results from that breach.

Nothing here waives any right, and a failure to enforce a term on one occasion is not a waiver of it on another.

Third-party names

Integration, platform and language names referenced on this site belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe what Backfire works with. Their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those owners.

Reporting infringement or requesting permission

To report copied material, request permission to reuse content or branding, or raise a licensing question, email backfireapi@outlook.com with the URL, a description of the material and your contact details. Reports are reviewed by the operator personally.
