How trips are used

Metered per call, nothing else

A trip is never half-spent: one uptrip and the downtrip that answers it are a single unit. A call that reaches the network draws exactly one trip, and the exact figure comes back in the envelope. Rejected requests are free — keys, accounts and log lines are never metered.

Metering runs in its own ledger, so the published ceiling is capacity rather than a shared call budget: 600 forwards a minute per key and 1,200 per account, with a ten-second cooldown past it — never a silent throttle discovered in production. Nothing from the trip itself is kept: no trace log, no archived copy — the target, headers, body and response are purged the moment the roundtrip finishes.
